You will serve as a PROJECT MANAGER (ACADEMIC INITIATIVES) in the Office of the Vice Provost Academic Affairs of NAVAL POSTGRADUATE SCHOOL.

Duties

You will collaborate with other Office of the Vice Provost and campus personnel in planning meetings and other academic events. You will identify, research, and advise the Vice Provost on campus issues. You will track and document progress on Vice Provost office initiatives and projects in support of NPS’ strategic goals. You will partner with key stakeholders in executing and maintaining the timeline of high priority university initiatives for the Vice Provost and play a key role in guiding and overseeing projects and updating the Vice Provost on the status. You will undertake necessary research in support of Office of the Vice Provost academic and/or research projects and initiatives.

  • This is a bargaining unit position.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

GS-12: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Writing reports on status of projects and issues to submit to management; 2) Analyzing financial budgets, counsel and information management to coordinate a project; 3) Executing projects from beginning to end; and 4) Advising personnel on projects and initiatives. GS-11: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Utilizing automated software (i.e. word processing, spreadsheets, automated databases); 2) Performing program management duties; 3) Responding and managing to customer needs; and 4) Managing overall office operations and procedures in accordance to laws and regulations.
