As the Administrative Specialist for the Office of Congressional Workplace Rights, you will be responsible for full front-line administrative support for the Office, for the Board of Directors, and for the Director of Administrative Operations.

Duties

Open, and control access to, the office and other restricted spaces. Greet guests. Answer phones and respond to messages. Properly intake all forms submitted to the Office. Manage conference room calendars and assist staff with scheduling. Assist the Director of Administrative Operations with all administrative and operational support matters utilizing various information systems, including the legislative branch financial management system. Address and support the administrative needs for the Office to include ordering, tracking and distributing supplies. Act as Timekeeper in GovTA. Identify and advise on opportunities to improve the administrative operations of the Office. Provide administrative support to the Board of Directors. Book and support Board travel. Compile and ship Board packages. Provide on hand support to Board members during meetings. Correspond with the Board as requested. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Qualifications

Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills. Ability to interpret policy and resolve complex problems that may arise. Excellent interpersonal skills to form mutually beneficial relationships with staff, vendors, or other external and internal stakeholders. Ability to work quickly and accurately in a quick-paced environment while code-switching between various unrelated tasks effectively. Demonstrated prior administrative/support experience as well as Legislative Branch experience preferred.

Education

Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
