About the Position: This is a PERMANENT Program Support Assistant position with the USAG Directorate of Family, Morale, Welfare & Recreation Army Community Services Division located at Fort Jackson, SC.

Duties

Provides assistance supporting of the planning, programming, budgeting, and accounting functions and the formulation, execution, and review of funding programs. Checks the accuracy and adequacy of budget amounts and justification data submitted by those providing budgetary input. Advises managers and employees on individual training needs and objectives. Serves as staff contact and liaison in support of computer software and hardware items in the office.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Fort Jackson Army Community Services Employees Only: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes providing program support on administrative functions in areas such as inspections, budgeting, training, data processing, timekeeping, personnel, equipment, property and logistics management, reporting, and general office operations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05). OR Education: A half year (i.e., 9 semester hours) of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Business Management and Business Administration. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage, divide your total months of qualifying experience by 12. Then, divide your semester hours of graduate education by 9. Add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes providing technical and program support on all administrative and management functions in areas such as inspections, budgeting, training, data processing, time-keeping, personnel, equipment, property and logistics management, reporting, and general office operations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). OR Education: One full year of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Business Management and Business Administration. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Administration and ManagementClericalFinancial ManagementOral Communication Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).
