This position is located within the U.S. Department of Transportation, Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA), Office of Governmental, International and Public Affairs. PHMSA's mission is to protect people and the environment from the risks inherent in the transportation of hazardous materials by all modes of transportation. You will report to the Director/Deputy Office of Governmental, International and Public Affairs.

Qualifications
To meet the minimum qualifications for this position, you must meet the specialized experience qualifications for the grade at which you are requesting consideration.To qualify for the Grade 12, you must have at least one year of experience equal or equivalent to the GS-11 it must include:
Experience assisting or supporting a liaison and/or in maintaining working relationships with members of Congress and a variety of senior level officials and stakeholders;
Experience preparing briefing materials to be used in interactions with Congressional officials and assisting in compiling information as part of follow-ups with these Congressional officials;
Experience supporting or providing input into the decision-making process of the Federal legislative and executive branches.
To qualify for the Grade 13, you must have at least one year of experience equal or equivalent to the GS-12, it must include:
Experience briefing senior-level officials for interaction with Congressional officials and assisting in any follow-up information requested by Congressional staff;
Experience with the decision-making process of the Federal legislative and executive branches including the appropriations process;
Experience in assisting to prepare senior officials to participate in face-to-face meetings with congressional stakeholders and congressional hearings;
Experience in preparing presentations, memos, correspondence, legislative summaries, talking points, and other briefing material to prepare or be used by senior officials.
