About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the U.S. Army Intelligence & Security CMD U.S. Army Counterintelligence Command HQ FT. Meade, MD.
Duties
Provides security support to US Army Counterintelligence Command (USACIC) to include but not limited to civilian, military and contractor personnel assigned and/or attached under USACIC cognizance.
Responsible for the implementation of command policies and procedures, internal directives and guidelines, and the application thereto necessary to ensure the loyalty and reliability of personnel having access to classified, sensitive.
Reviews all end of day security check forms; SF701/SF 702, retraining personnel as required on proper completion of forms.
Serves as Primary Badge and Credentials Custodian; duties require coordination with Badge and Credentials office and external unit custodians and accountability of badge and credentials semi-annually.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
- In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance based on a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) with eligibility for access to sensitive compartmented information (SCI).
- All INSCOM employees may be subject to extended TDY or worldwide deployments during crisis situations to perform mission essential functions as determined by management.
- Temporary Duty (TDY) Travel may be required 25% or less of the time.
- This position requires you to obtain the following core SPeD Certification: Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) within their first two years of employment.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience.
To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience performed at the next lower grade (GG/GS-11) level position in the federal service which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as experience managing physical security and personnel security directly related to Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities (SCIFs) or Special Access Program Facilities (SAP-Fs). Specialized experience is progressively responsible intelligence-related security work directly related to the position being filled. Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector or in another government agency as long as it was at a level at least equivalent to the next lower band in the series.
