The position is at the Department of Veterans Affairs at the Phoenix VA Health Care System (VAHCS) in the Environmental Management Service providing a wide range of health care services processing laundry. The primary purpose of the position is to serve as supervisor for a Health Care Laundry Team.
Duties
Duties will include, but are not limited to the following:
The incumbent is responsible for the training and cross-training of employees and (Transitional Work Experience employees) TWE's. They will conduct classes on safety and will enforce regulations on conduct and safety.
The incumbent has full supervisory responsibility for (29) full-time employees and 7-10 TWE Staff.
Ensures that assignments are complete as directed.
Maintains a reasonable inventory level for all laundry supplies and linen.
Procures supplies needed using approved procurement methods i.e. 2237s and credit cards. The incumbent maintains a government credit card.
Work Schedule: Full-Time, 07:00 am to 3:30 pm.

EXPERIENCE: A specific length of training and experience is not required, but you must show evidence of training or experience of sufficient scope and quality of your ability to do the work of this position. Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:
The incumbent is required to work continuously on concrete or tiled flooring. May be required to do heavy lifting (up to 50 pounds), standing, stooping, and bending. Must be able to climb ladders, move heavily loaded carts and work in congested areas. The incumbent must be capable of operating all powers equipment in laundry operation. Work is normally performed in a well-lighted and climate controlled atmosphere.
