You will serve as a Safety and Occupational Health Manager in the Mission Support Division, Code 125000 of NAVAL RESEARCH LABORATORY.
Duties
You will be responsible for carrying out the administrative and supervisory functions of the Branch.
You will be responsible for all facets of Radiation Safety Program, Occupational Safety and Health Programs.
You will be responsible for planning, organizing, and scheduling work.
You will analyze work requirements and determine staffing, equipment, and other resources necessary to accomplish assignments.
You will review, approve, modify or reject changes in functions, structure, position descriptions, and staffing levels.
You will establish instructions, procedures, operating guidelines, and standards of quality for subordinate supervisors.
You will evaluate problems associated with the quantity, quality, and effectiveness of operations and tasks and recommend corrective actions.

- This position is considered Key/Emergency-Essential. You will be required to provide immediate and continuing support to ensure the success of combat operations or the availability of combat-essential systems.
- You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.
- Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-13) grade level or pay band (NO-04) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate most or all of the following: 1.) Developing, implementing, and maintaining a comprehensive program for safety and occupational health and radiological safety; 2.) Establishing guidelines and follow-up procedures for branch personnel function; 3.) Evaluating problems associated with the quality, quantity and effectiveness of operations and tasks; 4.) Approving, modifying or rejecting professional development plans, training requests and proposals for employees; and 5.) Coordinating work between subordinate units and other organizations.
