This is a permanent, supervisory position. Relocation incentive may be authorized in accordance with agency policy.
Duties
Plan work to be accomplished by subordinates and adjust short-term priorities.
Interview candidates for positions in the unit and recommend appointments.
Identify developmental and training needs of employees; provide development or arrange training.
Ensure that programs/projects are adequately resourced and accomplished with the least disruption to workers and mission operations..
Use managerial, program analysis, and management information systems background to effectively chair meetings with HECSA stakeholders.
Chair meetings, briefs, coordinate with and/or prepare information papers for appropriate activities.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) responsible for the overall management, control, coordination and execution of assigned programs and projects; 2) provides leadership to a team and assures that the project stays focused on Program requirements; 3) keeps the senior leaders and resource providers apprised of customer expectations and the status of assigned programs and projects; and 4) provides direction, guidance, leadership, and coordination of programs for the organization. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13).
