You will serve as a SAFETY AND OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH MANAGER in the Safety Division of MCRD ERR PI SC.

Duties

You will provide guidance in the initiation of written procedures implementing technical safety standards, codes and requirements for a variety of operations. You will establish program goals and objectives of the safety programs. You will instruct staff in the development, review, or implementation of plans, methods or abatements to eliminate or control hazards or unsafe acts. You will establish program goals for long-range plans for safety education programs. You will provide counsel and direction to staff who advise investigating officials and mishap investigation boards. You will recommend awards for subordinates when appropriate. You will plan work to be accomplished by subordinates.

Requirements

  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final SECRET security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This position is considered Key/Emergency-Essential. You will be required to provide immediate and continuing support to ensure the success of combat operations or the availability of combat-essential systems.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
  • This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
  • You are required to possess and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
