This position is located at the United States Agency for Global Media, Voice of America, Khmer Division. The incumbent will serve as an International Broadcaster for the Khmer service, with responsibility for conceiving, planning, researching, writing, and broadcasting original audio/video scripts of a highly complex nature and for providing radio programs and new media.

Duties

As an International Broadcaster (Multimedia) (Khmer), you will be responsible for duties to include, but are not limited to: Writes and produces integrated, well-balanced, and highly targeted written, graphic, audio, or video materials for websites, mobile, or other news media platforms. Writes and reports original news and/or feature stories and conducts interviews for radio and television broadcast and web publication. Participates in the development of regularly scheduled radio, television, and new media programs. Assists in resolving script editing, audio loading, and computer equipment updating issues.

• The full performance grade level for this position is GS-12.
• This position may require working nights, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

Screen out factor: Applicant must have fluency in both English and Khmer languages that enables you to speak, read, write, report, and translate in both languages. This language screen out factor MUST be listed in your resume to receive consideration. Applicants must have a minimum of one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility comparable to the GS-11 or comparable pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private sector. Specialized Experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Knowledge of radio, TV-video, internet broadcasting and publishing principles, and of original daily news- reporting and of the tenants of journalism. Knowledge of audio editing, HTML, and web editing and design. Knowledge of computer systems, internet communications, website technologies, applications, software and database development. Knowledge of Cambodia, its history, economic culture, and socio-political development.

Education

Education is not required for this grade level. It cannot be used for qualification purposes.
