This position is located in the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Veterans Health Administration (VHA), Mid Atlantic Health Care Network (VISN 6), Richmond VA Medical Center (VAMC), in Medical Service. This position serves as House staff Liaison, analyst, advisor, and Medical Service curriculum/teaching Program Assistant, to the Chief Medical Resident, Service ADPAC and the Administrative Officer.
Duties
Develops and maintains an effective working relationship with curriculum counterpart within the divisional, departmental, and specialty program levels at MCV.
Helps coordinate the annual orientation of new house staff and house staff/student rotation each month by arranging for space, speakers, food, and transportation as needed.
Responsible for entering requests such as computer codes, facilitating remote access, and facilitating for USB drives, into Veterans Health Information Systems and Technology Architecture (VISTA) for each new house staff.
Tracks and trends issues related to program effectiveness and implementation, utilizes statistical data to compile workload reports.
Compile data for a number of VA and MCV reports pertaining to the Medical Service affiliation in general and the house staff program in particular.
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 09/26/2023.
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-6 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-5. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment.
You may qualify based on your experience and/or education as described below:
Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-05 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: knowledge of policies and regulations pertaining to house staff personnel issues; AND scheduling of academic rotations in order to ensure adequate staffing levels for the teams; AND navigate the scheduling programs; AND facilitate conferences; AND process evaluations; AND use of computer equipment with a wide variety of software such as word, excel, power point, outlook, and VHA database. NOTE: Evidence of specialized experience must be supported by detailed documentation of duties performed in positions held. Please provide such documentation on your resume.

Physical Requirements: Physical demands require sitting, standing, and walking. Travel to the Medical College is required for meetings and information gathering. Environment is a general office setting within a medical facility
