Duties

If selected for this position, you will join a well-respected team that is responsible for providing Legal Administrative Specialist support in the U.S. Attorney's Office, Southern District of Florida, located in Miami, focusing in the areas of criminal and/or civil litigation teams. Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress. Typical work assignments will include: Performs routine litigation support tasks necessary to process common electronically stored information (e.g., PDF files, Word documents, Excel spreadsheets, PowerPoint files, emails, etc.) Maintaining records of returns/production received pursuant to subpoenas, warrants, and other investigative tools. Ensures proper security is maintained over case and litigation support project materials, in accordance with office policies and procedures. Provides customer support services to litigation team members relating to their use of litigation technology applications. Creates electronic versions of exhibits for court filings, depositions, hearings, or trials. Operates software or equipment to present exhibits during civil or criminal legal proceedings. - Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress.

Qualifications

To be found eligible at the GS-09 level, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-7 level. Specialized Experience: At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 level in the Federal service performing (obtained in either the public or private sectors) the duties listed below: Performing routine and recurring litigation support assignments; Analyzing project requirements to identify appropriate technical solutions or litigation support approaches; Reviewing Indictment and Information packages for accuracy before providing it to the Chief of the section. Providing automated litigation support necessary to prepare or manage discovery, exhibits, evidence and data relevant to cases presented before a jury, grand jury or in other legal proceedings. OR two full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a master's degree or master's or equivalent graduate degree; or a combination of the required experience and education for this grade level. To be qualified, you must meet Time-in-Grade Requirements: Under competitive merit promotion procedures, any individual who is currently holding, or who has held within the previous 52 weeks, a General Schedule position under a non-temporary appointment in the competitive or excepted service, must meet time-in-grade" requirements (have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade of the grade for which you are applying). NOTE: All current Federal employees must provide a copy of their SF-50 (you may need to submit more than one), "Notice of Personnel Action" that indicates proof of status and time-in-grade eligibility. The SF-50 must include your position, title, series, grade, step, tenure (1 or 2), and type of service (Competitive or Excepted). You must submit your SF-50 that shows Time-in-Grade eligibility and reflects your title, series, and grade. No award SF-50 will be accepted; recommended SF-50s include promotions and step increases (within grade increases).
