Duties

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY As an Executive Assistant, you will use your knowledge of and experience with the Immediate Office of the Secretary (IOS) to optimize business results and customer experience by: Managing the office calendars and conference rooms with complete authority for scheduling. Facilitating the decision-making process in the ES by reviewing relevant documents to ensure they are consistent with leadership direction, clearly written, and generally free of grammatical and stylistic errors. Taking notes in meetings, conferences, and other working sessions to record decisions, directions to subordinate staff, plans for meetings, conferences and presentations and other similar matter; composes meeting notes and decision memoranda. Coordinating travel for the Senior Executives in the ES based on in-depth knowledge of the Senior Executive's personal preferences and priorities.

Qualifications

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR Minimum Qualifications: You must have one year specialized experience to perform successfully the duties of the position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service performing ALL of the following: providing administrative support to senior executive officials by managing office calendars and conference rooms with complete scheduling authority, coordinating travel for the Senior Executives based on in-depth knowledge of the Senior Executive's personal preferences and priorities and taking notes in meetings, conferences, and other working sessions to record decisions, directions to subordinate staff, plans for meetings, conferences and presentations and other similar matters. If such experience is on a part-time basis, you must provide the average number of hours worked per week as well as the beginning and ending dates of the experience so it can be fully credited.
