Duties
Provides artistic and technical expertise and guidance in all areas of the graphic arts, including digital and visual communications.
Provides expertise and advice on the execution of communication tools such as printed materials, digital materials, and three-dimensional models.
Responsible for the planning, cost estimates, and coordination of publications when working with the various Government Printing office contracts as well as commercial contractors.

Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience. If qualifying based on education, a copy of your unofficial transcripts must be provided with your application.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: To be considered minimally qualified for this position, you must demonstrate that you have the required specialized experience and/or education for the respective grade level in which you are applying:
Specialized Experience: Applicants must have one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service (obtained either in the private or public sectors) performing the following: (1) providing technical and artistic expertise on digital and printed materials; (2) creating, designing, or consulting on the production of displays and exhibits; (3) utilizing various software and applications to prepare, edit, or publish information; (4) advising internal or external stakeholders on the adequacy/suitability of graphic materials.
Education: There is no substitution of education for experience at the grade level(s) of this announcement.
Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement.
TIME IN GRADE: Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade requirement in accordance with 5 CFR 300.604. If you are a current Federal employee in the General Schedule (GS) pay plan and applying for a promotion opportunity, you must have completed a minimum of 52 weeks at the next lower grade level.
Physical Demands: The work requires good eyesight, color discrimination, artistic talent, and manual dexterity. Occasional physical activity is required including bending and stooping.
