Joining the Secret Service, Office of Training, Federal Law Enforcement Training Center, you will provide training to criminal investigators and law enforcement officers with investigative techniques, analysis, interviewing skills, and the ability to plan and coordinate investigations with significant community impact. This Law Enforcement Specialist (Instructor) (Physical Skills) position starts at a salary of $82,830 (GS-12, Step 1), with promotion potential to $98,496 (GS-13, Step-1).
Duties
The selectee will serve as Law Enforcement Specialist (Instructor) (Physical Skills) in the Office of Training, James J. Rowley Training Center. Typical work assignments include:

Qualifications
You qualify for the GS-12 level (starting salary $94,199) if you possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level performing duties such as:
Coordinating, developing, and instructing physical skills training for all applicable training programs;
Coordinating with law enforcement agencies to determine current and future curriculum content;
Providing professional and technical information to managers, employees and students.
Selective Placement Factor: In addition to the minimum qualifications described above, you must meet the following requirement(s) to be considered qualified for the position: At a minimum a candidate must possess a Certified strength and Conditioning Specialist (NSCA/CSCS) certificate and have two out of the following certificates:
Tactical Strength and Conditioning Facilitator (TSAC-F)
CrossFit Level 1
National Academy of Sports Medicine Instructor (NASM)
American Council on Exercise (ACE)
American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM)
Precision Nutrition Level One
Assessment
The Physical Efficiency Battery (PEB) test will be administered at the time of the interview. The PEB is a fitness test consisting of four testing components (push-ups, sits-ups, chin-ups and 1.5 mile run).You must pass with a minimum of 16 overall points (per age and gender) with at least 4 points in every category to satisfy the 16 points requirements.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
