Duties
This position is within the Budget Division (BUD), under the Chief Financial Officer Directorate (CFO) and located in Glynco, Georgia. Serving as a Budget Analyst makes you a valuable member of the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) team and mission. The primary purpose of the position is to provide administrative and analytical duties in support of the bureau budget process, along with analyzing data, preparing various budget-related reports, and is responsible for funding certification commitment for various offices.
Requirements
- This position requires you to have access, safeguard, and store classified national security information on a regular basis. You must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.

- Overtime work may be required.
- This is a bargaining unit position.

The qualification requirements listed below must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
For the GS-07 grade level:You must possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-05 grade level in federal service performing analytical and administrative duties as they relate to an organization’s budget process. OR
A bachelor’s degree with superior academic achievement, which is based on (1) class standing, (2) grade-point average, or (3) honor society membership. Go to Section 4. Education and Training Provisions or Requirements, Subpart F, “Superior academic achievement,” to see if you qualify under this provision OR
One full year of graduate level education if related, OR
An equivalent combination of graduate education and experience that equates to one year of experience. (You must submit a copy of your transcripts). Time-in-Grade: Current and former federal GS employees must have served 52 weeks at the GS-05 grade level in the federal service. The time-in-grade requirement must be met by the closing date of this announcement.If this position is filled at the GS-07 grade level, you may be non-competitively promoted without further competition when the supervisor determines that the duties of the higher grade level are being performed and all regulatory requirements have been met.For the GS-09 grade level:You must possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-07 grade level in the federal service performing a wide range of analytical and administrative duties in support of an organization’s budget formulation and/or execution process. OR A master's or equivalent graduate degree OR 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related, OR a combination of graduate education and experience that equates to one year of experience. Only graduate education beyond the first 18 semester hours may be considered at this grade level. (You must submit a copy of your transcripts).Time-in-Grade: Current and former federal GS employees must have served 52 weeks at the GS-07 grade level in the federal service. The time-in-grade requirement must be met by the closing date of this announcement.If this position is filled at the GS-09 grade level, you may be non-competitively promoted without further competition when the supervisor determines that the duties of the higher grade level are being performed and all regulatory requirements have been met.For the GS-11 grade level:You must possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-09 grade level in the federal service assisting in budget formulation and/or execution, including budget preparation, allocation, use and control of appropriated funds, budget distribution, execution, and studies and analyses. OR A PhD or equivalent doctoral degree, OR 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. J.D., if related, OR a combination of graduate education and experience that equates to one year of experience. Only graduate education beyond the first 36 semester hours may be considered at this grade level. (You must submit a copy of your transcripts).
