THIS IS AN AIR FORCE NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a TITLE 32 ELECTRONIC INTEGRATED SYSTEMS MECHANIC (MI 127TH MXS), Position Description Number D2326000/D2324000 and is part of the MI 127 Wing, Michigan Air National Guard.

Duties

**THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION** This position is located in either the Avionics Intermediate Shop (AIS), Improved Avionics Intermediate Shop (IAIS) or ECM Pod Shop, Component Repair Branch, of an Aircraft Maintenance Squadron. This is an Air National Guard (ANG) Dual Status Technician position requiring military membership, compatible military skill assignment, and classification. Its purpose is to inspect, test, troubleshoot, repair and modify software controlled automated and manually controlled test stations, ECM Pods, peripherals, support equipment and associated subsystems. The stations are used to repair and maintain all avionics line-replaceable units (LRUs) and Pods. WG-2610-12 1. On a day-to-day basis, analyzes performance, tests, inspects, troubleshoots, identifies and isolates malfunctions, disassembles, modifies or repairs and reassembles the test stations or ECM Pods and their associated peripherals. 2. Modifies and updates avionics Pods and or support equipment and support software according to applicable technical publications. 3. Connects associated testing equipment to interface the test station system to the aircraft system/Pod to facilitate maintenance/repair of POD or line replaceable units (LRUs) from the avionics systems such as radar, fire control, instrument, flight control, inertial navigation, malfunction analysis and recording equipment systems. 4. Works with engineers and technicians in the development and/or modification of software, interfaces, extender equipment or additional items of test equipment and in validation of technical data concerning the repair, maintenance, and test of the test station and units under test. 5. Complies with safety, fire, security, and housekeeping regulations. Ensures that material and equipment are properly stored, protected and maintained. 6. Processes and accounts for Due in From Maintenance (DIFM) supply assets. 7. Performs other duties as assigned. WG-2610-13 1. Requirements

  • AIR NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP REQUIRED. If you are not sure you are eligible for military membership, please contact a Michigan Air National Guard recruiter prior to applying for this position.
  • This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the Michigan Air National Guard, required prior to the effective date of placement.

Qualifications

In your resume you will need to address the general and specialized experience listed below. Military Grades: E2 - E5 SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Minimum time required: 18 Months Experience that prepares the applicant to perform the duties of the position. The applicant's educational-degree study program or specific academic courses may substitute for some specialized experience. An applicant must demonstrate the identified specialized experience competencies (skills, knowledge, abilities and behaviors) to qualify for a FWS 2610 position as identified by its applicable grade. A working knowledge of programming principles sufficient to analyze aircraft avionics equipment or Pods as well as computerized test stations software and software problems and to work with engineering personnel to correct them. A comprehensive knowledge of electronics, software controlled test stations and their peripherals, test results, a variety of test equipment, self-test programs and technical data containing schematic diagrams, signal and data diagrams, test procedures, program information, and mathematical formulas to identify and isolate malfunctions and determine if a malfunction is in the program, the UUT, Pod or the test station. A thorough knowledge of the interaction of the electronic systems that are interfaced with the test stations (e.g., radar, fire control, instrument, flight control, inertial navigation, malfunction analysis and recording equipment systems). A working knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic principles as well as system pressurization, dehydration, liquid and gaseous cooling systems and other systems assigned to the test station. A thorough knowledge of the interaction of the electronic systems that are interfaced with the test stations (e.g., POD, radar, fire control, instrument, flight control, inertial navigation, malfunction analysis and recording equipment systems).
