About the Position: The mission of the Corpus Christi Army Depot is to overhaul, repair, modify, retrofit, test and modernize helicopters, engines and components for all services and foreign military customers. Corpus Christi Army Depot (CCAD) is the Army's Center of Industrial and Technical Excellence for Rotary Wing Aviation Maintenance. We provide worldwide on-site maintenance services, aircraft crash analysis, lubricating oil analysis, and chemical, metallurgical and training support.
Duties
Perform a variety of selected tasks involving replacement, repair, installation, minor rework, balancing, and alignment of rotor blade composite assemblies.
Disassemble components to point of malfunction and performs rework necessary for restoring item to operable condition.
Use various precision balancing fixtures such as static balance, Avion balance and other balancing fixtures.
Serve as journeyman assigned to the Rotary Wing Section responsible to perform a variety of selected tasks involving replacement, repair, installation, minor rework, balancing, and alignment of rotor blade composite assemblies.
Perform bagging procedures and prepares blades for deicer sheath bonding.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an Aircraft Mechanical Parts Repairer without more than normal supervision.Resumes will be reviewed for experience and/or training which provided skills and knowledge of the following: disassembling some components and bonding repairs on a variety of helicopter rotor-wing blades, both composite and sheet metal. Using measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, dial indicator, gauges, and/or torque wrenches. Using proper hand and power tools, equipment, special tools, and machinery. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating.

PHYSICAL EFFORT:
Employee stands for prolonged periods of time, also bends, climbs, kneels, reaches and stoops. Requires frequent lifting of heavy parts up to 35 pounds without assistance, and over 35 pounds with assistance from another worker or weight handling equipment and torquing to high torque values in around 300-1000 foot pounds. Moderately heavy physical effort in the frequent use of hand and power tools is required and working in tiring positions
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Works inside a clean, well-lighted and well-ventilated area workers are frequently exposed top loud noise, dust, fumes, toxic and/or potentially flammable chemicals which can cause skin, eye and lung irritations as well as to the possibility of cuts, burns and bruises. Numerous protective devices, equipment and clothing are available for employees, such as respirators, face shields, gloves, smocks, dual ear protection, protective hand cream, safety glasses, safety shoes, downdraft tables, updraft workstations. Work conditions have been considered in the evaluation of the position
