About the Position: This position is for IT Specialist (Network Service/Internet) with the 80th Training Command G-6 located in Richmond, Virginia.
Duties
Monitor organization’s equipment life cycle program.
Coordinate hardware and software installation to maintain operational standards.
Monitor local area network, cable and wiring to ensure network configuration is operational.
Serve as a network security officer for organization.
Enforce network policies and procedures.
Review automation initiatives to identify future IT requirements and recommend changes.
Review modifications to installed hardware and software to maintain system stability.
Maintain Secret Internet Protocol Router Network (SIPRNET), Non-classified Internet Protocol Router Network (NIPRNET).
Provide technical support to staff with computer or network issues.
Manage Army Cybersecurity Program within command.
Establish security awareness training program to teach protection of sensitive or classified information.
Utilize data to develop budget projections.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires you to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
- Within six months of assignment, must satisfactorily complete and/or obtain the required cert/recert in accordance with DoD Publication 8570.01-M, Information Assurance Workforce Improvement Program, with a minimum Security+baseline certification.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).
