In this position you will work in a team of Engine Managers for the 412th Test Wing (FJ Accounts).
Duties
Utilizing specialized knowledge of propulsion systems and engine maintenance processes develops plans/forecasts for
engine modification projects and scheduled/unscheduled maintenance requirements to meet mission requirement.
Accurately prepares and publishes clear and comprehensive weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual schedules/reports for
the inspection, TCTO compliance, overhaul and/or repair of one or more complex engine system with numerous
components or sub-assemblies.
Gathers accurate data from a variety of automated sources, and maintenance information systems designed to report failure
of aircraft engines and/or their components.
Accomplishes a variety of special projects involving propulsion, and aircraft systems.
Works in an engine management team ensuring all operating/maintenance actions are updated/documented in the appropriate system EG: IMDS, CEMS, CETADS, REMIS etc.
Using specialized propulsion knowledge conducts meeting EG: Predock / TCTO etc. advising on required maintenance actions.
Contributes to periodic reports EG: Engine flying time, Engine status, TCTO reconciliation etc.
Ensures the handling, transportation, storage and receipt of shipping devices for engines are properly documented, maintained and reported.
Ensures parts requirements for engine not mission capable supplies (ENMCS) are accurately reported and promptly requisitioned.
Ensures engine/parts shipments are properly documented and authorized.
Requirements

- Telework is authorized, up to 20% telework possible (must reside in the local area)
- 1 year of exp. with IMDS or GO81 maintenance tracking systems desired.
- 2 year aircraft engine mechanic experience desired
Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management positions located here
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least 1 year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the next lower broadband NH-02, equivalent to the next lower grade GS-11 or equivalent in other pay systems. Specialized experience is experience in knowledge of propulsion systems and engine maintenance processes, applicable maintenance information systems, maintenance inspections, engine and aircraft maintenance personnel planning, scheduling, and controlling aircraft/engine maintenance and related equipment resource time changes, time compliance technical orders (TCTO) and inspections. As well as experience utilizing document maintenance /operational actions in CEMS, CETADS, REMIS, IMDS, GO81. NOTE: Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Basic knowledge of the theory and operating characteristics of propulsion systems maintenance processes and material to ensure availability of aircraft engine, and related equipment resources.
2. Knowledge and skill in gathering data from automated systems and performing detailed analysis to identify trends in aircraft propulsion, and sub-system failures. Ability to effectively utilize common software applications to prepare informative reports to assist in the presentation of findings to maintenance professionals.
3. Knowledge and skill to interpret terminology, technical data, standards and instructions, and to relate them properly to the particular project(s) assigned in preparing production plans and schedules and in maintaining effective follow-up.
4. Knowledge and skill to plan, collect, compile and correlate production data from aircraft engine automated database systems for scheduling, managing configuration of aircraft resources and to take corrective action to meet urgent and regular work load requirements.
5. Knowledge and skill to communicate orally, in writing, and work with customers. Display a high degree of tact and diplomacy.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
