The position is located at Wakpala, SD at the Great Plains Area Youth Regional Treatment Center. In this position, the incumbent serves as Nurse, Consultant, and educator. Collaborates in the development and implementation of treatment plans and evaluation of outcomes for all adolescent clients.
Duties
Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients based on nursing assessment and on the physician's medical plan of care.
Provide counseling, guidance and health instruction to patients; and identifying disease entities in order to recognize complications and therapeutic interventions required.
Identify individual patient problems and develop, implement, and evaluate patient care plans.

In addition to the Basic Requirements, you must also meet the Minimum Qualifications stated below.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks:
GS-7: possess a diploma or associate degree in professional nursing and two full years of professional nursing experience. Examples of experience include: experience implementing established protocols and standing orders for handling patients; experience providing care to patients whose conditions are characterized by extremely complex health care needs; Experience recognizing life threatening emergencies and initiating immediate care until assistance is obtained.
Time In Grade
Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP).
You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement.
