About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the 7TH SIG CMD (T) 93RD SIG BD. ** This announcement is open to current Federal Employees only. **

Duties

Keep management officials apprised of changes in the physical regulations, the impact, and action required. Identify Information security weaknesses/deficiencies, inform appropriate officials recommending appropriate corrective action. Administer investigative scope and regulatory requirements for each security clearance level to determine appropriate courses of action when derogatory information is found.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
  • In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
  • Must be willing to undergo and successfully complete a counterintelligence-scope polygraph examination with No Deception Indicated (NDI) on a pre-appointment and periodic basis.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret (TS) security clearance based on a T5investigation/Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) with eligibility for sensitive compartmented information (SCI).
  • In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
  • May require Temporary Duty (TDY) travel up to 10% of the time.
  • Required to possess a valid government vehicle operator license to support unit/activity customer service support requirements.
  • Subject to 2-hour call back for emergency and/or security related issues.
  • This position has been identified for the Security Professional Education Development (SPeD)Certification Program.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience equivalent to the GG/GS-09 that prepared you to do this job. Specialize experience is defined as experience which includes editing personnel records within an approved system of record for security clearances, such as Defense Information Security System (DISS); teaching or training personnel in security processes or security inspections; utilizing two or more of the following disciplines for a command - Communications Security (COMSEC), Personnel Security (PERSEC), Information Security (INFOSEC) and/or Physical Security (PHYSEC); AND performing security inquires or investigations. This definition of specialize experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level in the Federal service. Specialized experience is progressively responsible intelligence-related security work directly related to the position being filled. Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector or in another government agency as long as it was at a level at least equivalent to the next lower band in the series.
