Duties
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY
As an Supervisory Social Science Analyst, you will use your knowledge of and experience to optimize business results and customer experience by:
Provide leadership and direction on scientific, technical and administrative matters.
Apply knowledge of administrative and program management principles and skills in carrying out the mission of Center for Behavioral Health Statistics and Quality (CBHSQ).
Participate fully in discussions and decisions concerning CBHSQ and SAMHSA plans, programs, and activities, both in strategic planning and in the actual determination, allocation, and administration of Division programs, functions, and activities.
Plans, manages, organizes and directs all programs, and related dissemination activities of the Branch/Office as carried out by the highly trained and skilled staff of professional statisticians, public health scientists and social science analysts.
Analyze and prepare publications, consult on the development of special reports and analyze, and serve as a source of expertise for SAMHSA and the Department.

Qualifications
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Basic Qualifications for the Social Science Series 0101:
Have a bachelor's or higher degree in behavioral or social science, or related disciplines appropriate to the position. (Transcripts must be provided)
OR
Have a combination of education and experience that provided knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.
OR
Have four years of appropriate experience that demonstrate I have acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.
AND
Minimum Qualifications:
You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing all of the following:
Mentoring, leading and appraising the staff of an organization;
Directing work operations to meet program requirements and objectives;
Providing leadership and direction on scientific, technical and administrative matters; and,
Managing social science and public health programs.
