This position is located in Department of Homeland Security, US Coast Guard, Force Readiness Command (FORCECOM), Education and Training Quota Management Command (ETQC) in Norfolk, VA.
Duties
This position will serve as Training Technician and will be responsible for scheduling Coast Guard members to "C" school training programs to fill budgeted and planned course quotas, while ensuring compliance with Joint Travel Regulations (JTR) and other policies, and validating member prerequisites and eligibility for courses. Being a CG civilian makes you a valuable member of the CG team. Typical work assignments include:

Qualifications
At the GS-07 level: Applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-05 level in the federal service. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. Specialized experience includes: Updating projections for use of "C" school training quotas based on changes and gained efficiencies; applying knowledge of training program policy to ensure integrity and quality of portfolio information; assisting with development, implementation and execution of existing or future agency training quota procedures, initiatives, systems and databasesOR1 full year of graduate level educationORSuperior academic achievementORCombining Education and Experience: Combinations of successfully completed post-high school education and experience may be used to meet total qualification requirements for the grade level.National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience): Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social).
