You will serve as a TECHNICAL PROJECT MANAGER (TECHNICIAN) in the Guns Division (G3), Systems Integration Department (G) of NAVSURFWARCEN IH DIV.
The salary range shown above represents all of the positions within the band, including high grade positions. This is not a high grade position; therefore, the salary may be limited to a GS-13 Step 10 (depending on geographic location).
Duties
You will manage and direct all aspects of the Alteration Installation Team (AIT) activities to accomplish and meet customer field service requirements for the MK38 gun weapon system.
You will oversee program definition, organization, and direction of long and short range plans related to MK38 AIT execution.
You will establish and control technical milestones, schedules, budgets, and costs to ensure program success.
You will oversee technical team efforts, evaluate the work done by subordinate technicians, and provide expert advice and guidance to managers, supervisors, peers, subordinates, and sponsors on specific technical aspects of the MK38 AIT program.
You will develop task planning sheets for fiscal requirements and budget approval.
You will determine cost estimation related to AIT technical work, write task orders, and conduct routine consultation with contracting professionals while preparing artifacts required for contract award or modifications.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
- You may be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals).
- You must be willing and able to lift and/or carry loads/items up to 50 pounds in weight.
- You must be willing and able to work onboard ships.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower pay band, NT-04 (GS-11/12 equivalency) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: analyzing and developing technical engineering methods and procedures to provide technical direction and execute projects involving the installation, repair, and modernization of guns or gun weapon systems to ensure operational readiness.
