About the Position: Fort Gordon is in Augusta, Georgia, home of the Cyber Center of Excellence (CCoE) and future headquarters of ARMY CYBER COMMAND (ARCYBER). It is approximately 142 miles east of Atlanta, 80 miles southwest of Columbia, South Carolina and 122 miles northwest of Savannah, Georgia. Ft Gordon's location offers close proximity to a metropolitan area and is an easy drive from Atlanta, Savannah, the beaches along the Atlantic Ocean and the mountains.
Duties
Serves as Customer Service Program (CSP) administrator for payroll, allowances, benefits, and entitlements.
Provides technical guidance and direct service support to civilian employees, management and senior leadership on pay, benefits, and entitlements.
Monitors, coordinates and resolves Civilian payroll errors in the Automated Time Attendance and Production System (ATAAPS), General Fund Enterprise System (GFEBS), Defense Civilian Payroll System (DCPS) systems.
Manages and analyzes automated and manual systems for receiving and processing DCPS reports and documents received from the servicing Defense Finance and Accounting Office (DFAS).

Specialized Experience - Current Employees: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) processing a wide variety of payroll actions using Defense Civilian Pay System (DCPS) or similar automated payroll system; 2) determining various payroll errors and corrective actions to be completed based upon policies and/or regulations; and 3) substantial knowledge of Federal civilian pay and leave rules, regulations, procedures, programs and system requirements. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).
Specialized Experience - External Applicants: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-08 grade level in the Federal service which includes 1) serving intermediary between the customers (serviced clientele) and the Defense Finance and Accounting Services (DFAS); 2) providing technical assistance to command timekeepers regarding the operations of the on-line Defense Civilian Payroll System (DCPS); 3) verifying and processing a variety of payroll and time and attendance data impacting pay. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-08).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-7).
