About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the Info Systems Engineering Command Mission Support Directorate located in Fort Huachuca, AZ.
Duties
Monitors the security clearance in-processing of military and civilian personnel into the Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC).
Monitors pending cases and conducts telephonically or electronically (i.e., email etc.) checks with Defense Counter Intelligence and Security Agency (DCSA) Adjudications on the status of investigations without granted eligibility.
Provides Personnel Security Training to Battalion (BN) Security Managers.
Provides briefings and written reports to the Command's Staff on the status of personnel security actions within the command, on an as requested basis.
Provides regular security updates on the status of investigations for commissioning cadets to Brigade and Battalion (BN) personnel.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance with eligibility for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) and selected Special Access Programs (SAPs) based on a Tier 5(or equivalent) investigation.
- In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
- Required to submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, upon entering the position and annually, in accordance with DoD Directive 5500-7-R, Joint Ethics Regulation, dated 17-Nov-2011.

Specialized experience defined as: Reviewing security clearance applications for accuracy and completion of information; entering and retrieving personnel security information from classified and unclassified systems; AND reviewing results of personnel security investigations in order to summarize unfavorable information.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GG/GS-07) or outside the federal service (GG/GS-08).
