About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the ST-IC-WND299 US ARMY INTELLIGENCE AND SECURITY CMD.
Duties
Serves as Safety and Occupational Health Manager for the 470th Military Intelligence Brigade responsible for managing the Brigade's Safety Program.
Ensures compliance and enforcement of various safety and occupational health subprograms, such as eye and hearing conservation, respiratory protection, hazardous materials storage and transportation.
Serves as the Command Anti-Terrorism /Force Protection (AT/FP) Specialist responsible for all functions and responsibilities required to review security systems and identify facility, personnel, and operational threats and vulnerabilities.
Serves as Brigade Emergency Management (EM) Program Coordinator.
Ensures compliance with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration regulations (OSHA).
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
- In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
- The employee must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret, SCI, SBI security clearance.
- The incumbent must be willing and able to execute travel/TDY 25% or less of the time to both CONUS and OCONUS locations.
- The employee may be required to work overtime on an emergency basis.
- Incumbent may be required to wear protective equipment/clothing due to possible exposure to toxic materials, high noise levels, explosives, radiation, dust, fumes and rugged terrain during inspections, field duty or accident investigations.
- All INSCOM employees may be subject to extended TDY or worldwide deployments during crisis situations to perform mission essential functions as determined by management.

Specialized experience is defined as experience administering and evaluating a comprehensive Safety and Occupational Health program; ensuring compliance and enforcement of Safety and Occupational Health subprograms; and managing the administration of a Safety and Occupational Health Inspection program. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level in the federal service (GG/GS-11).
