You will serve as a PROTOCOL OFFICER in the U.S. Marine Corps Forces South of US MARINE FORCES SOUTH.
Duties
You will serve as MARFORSOUTH Protocol Officer and be responsible for planning, managing, and executing all functions of the protocol office.
You will arrange various social functions based upon the purpose of the occasion, reciprocal gestures, and funding limitations.
You will conduct continuous analysis and evaluation of protocol plans and programs from both a technical and operational perspective.
You will monitor Official Representation Fund (ORF) expenditures for propriety, and maintains all associated records related to the MARFORSOUTH ORF fund.
Requirements

- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final SECRET security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector providing protocol support for the planning and coordinating of major meetings, conferences, seminars, ceremonies, social events, tours and formal visits for the command.

Education
OR Education: You may substitute education for specialized experience as follows: a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, or three full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree, or an LL.M, if related.
OR Combination: You may qualify by a combination of experience and education. To combine education and experience, the total percentage of experience at the required grade level compared to the specialized experience requirement, as well as the percentage of completed education compared to the education requirement must equal at least 100 percent.
