THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a POLICE OFFICER (COMBAT ARMS) - TITLE 32, Position Description Number PDD2156000 and is part of the KY 123 AW, National Guard. ***NOTE: Current on-board applicants (AREA 1, Title 32 employees within the 123 SEF SQ only) will retain current tenure and be temporarily promoted or reassigned, all others will be hired with indefinite tenure.***

Duties

As a POLICE OFFICER (COMBAT ARMS) - TITLE 32, GS-0083-8, you will plan, organize, and direct the activities of the installation's ground weapons training and maintenance program, incorporating safety requirements, and maintain adherence to safety regulations; serve as an instructor and inspects ground weapons. Perform Combat Arms Training. Develop training program and resources to include providing courses, training material and instruction covering proper use of handguns, rifles, machine guns and equipment. Demonstrate multiple police/combat agility skills. Make repairs on small arms. Apply specialized subject matter knowledge in course instruction. Maintain accountability and ensures security for weapons/ammunition/explosives utilized in the course of instruction. May train, assign work and oversee the work of subordinates and traditional guardsmen. Evaluate accidents to determine cause and ensure safety guidelines are followed and necessary precautions are taken to prevent further occurrences. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, policies, and procedures. Coordinate with the local Civil Engineering Squadron personnel on various issues and procedures to ensure compliance with local environmental laws. Direct and monitor security/resources protection program and procedures. Monitor explosive safety and munitions movement's safety procedures. Prepare annual budget and submit forecast/requisition for the program. Develop and publish local operating instructions (OIs) and review other directives. Prepare supporting documents for squadron leadership on ground combat weapons and munitions policies, issues and proposals. Perform and enforce the full range of security forces duties within the military installation. Incumbent is exposed to the day-to-day dangers associated with law enforcement and security duties and has full powers to detain, pursue or direct detaining person(s) who attempt to flee crime scenes, an active shooter, or other means of resisting arrest. Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENT: Must have successful completion of the Air Force Technical Training AFSC/Security Forces School SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have at least 18 months experience performing practical security force activities in direct support of the military weapon systems and physical security; law and order; and area security operations such as law enforcement, maintaining law and order, preserving the peace, and protecting life and civil rights within the jurisdiction of military installations. Experience in protecting federal property from hazards such as sabotage, espionage, trespass, theft, fire, and accident or willful damage and destruction. Knowledgeable in developing plans, policies, procedures, and detailed instructions to implement security force programs. Experience maintaining accountability and ensuring security for weapons, ammunition, and explosives utilized in the course of instruction in accordance with applicable Air Force Instructions. Experience implementing and instructing ground weapons training programs. Experience in the control and safeguarding of arms, ammunition, and equipment. Experience managing weapon placement to security forces and ground defense force commanders. Experience inspecting ground weapons, replacing unserviceable parts, and analyzing malfunctions by inspections and serviceability testing. Experience firing weapons for accuracy and serviceability. Knowledge of controlling and operating firing ranges and associated facilities to include supervising construction and rehabilitation. Experience may include instructions on the proper use of handguns, rifles, machine guns and other base defense/ground combat skills equipment, in accordance with approved lesson plans and course control documents. Experience with weaponry, laws, directives, programs, policies, and procedures governing Security Forces activities; installation security; weapon system and resource security; anti-terrorism; law enforcement and investigations; military working dogs; air base defense; training; pass and registration; civilian work force; and combat arms. EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Resume must have complete dates, work schedule, and/or hours worked per week for both civilian and military employment.
