This position is in the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center, 1300 Pennsylvania Ave., NW., Washington, DC, in the Bureau for Development, Democracy, and Innovation (DDI), Innovation, Technology, and Research (ITR) Hub, at the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID).
Duties
Serves as the Deputy Director for the Innovation Technology and Research Hub (ITR) front office and supervises a group of employees performing work at the GS-15 level and below.
Provides leadership in the strategic development and implementation process for policies, procedures, and management controls to fulfill multi-year objectives for ITR programs with agency-wide impact.
Leads financial planning and program oversight for the ITR hub and develops strategies to acquire the necessary resources to meet the Hub’s goals and objectives.
Leads the Hub’s people and culture strategy - including forecasting of future workforce needs, strategizing and developing return to work strategies, and cultivating a healthy work environment.
Coordinates the Hub’s congressional engagement with the Office of Legislative and Public Affairs.
Provides thought leadership and partnership on issues critical to the ITR Hub and the agency. Provides administrative and technical supervision necessary for accomplishing the work of the ITR Hub.
Requirements

Specialized Experience:
GS-15: You must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-14 level in the Federal service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. Examples of qualifying specialized experience at the next lower level for this position includes: (a) Supporting operations and strategic planning for large scale international development programs or offices; (b) managing budgets, activities, and teams within a large-scale international development context; (c) performing administrative and human resource management functions relative to staff employees;and (d) providing informal feedback to periodically evaluate employee's performance.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience relevant to the position's duties to be filled, including volunteer experience.
