This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation.
You will be the Chief of the Fort Moore Research Unit (FMRU), which conducts applied research focused on defining, assessing, and developing leader competencies for the Army. Supporting and related research addresses topics such as developing innovative methods that assess, track, and provide feedback on critical cognitive, social, and other competencies needed to optimize Leader and Soldier performance across their careers.
Duties
Responsible for planning, organizing, and directing research assignments at a Research Unit.
Supervisor furnishes long-range program guidance, establishes overall objectives and priorities, and outlines desired products.
Establishing and supervising the execution of policies and procedures for managing technical, administrative, and physical support of the
research unit.
Directs field investigations, validates laboratory findings, and directs field research on problems which cannot be meaningfully solved in a
laboratory setting.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
- This position requires you to submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report (OGE450) upon entry, and annually thereafter.

Basic Requirement for a Supervisory Research Psychologist (Unit Chief):
Degree: Bachelor's degree with a major or equivalent in psychology from an accredited college or university is required. A graduate degree (e.g., M.A., M.S., or Ph.D.) in psychology is preferred.
In addition to meeting the basic requirements above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:
Experience required: To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job.
Specialized experience is defined as: Experience planning, organizing, and directing research assignments within a Research Unit, experience directing field investigations, and experience providing technical, administrative, and physical support to a research unit. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (DB-04 / GS-14).

Education
There is no substitution for specialized experience at this level.
