This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), U.S. Coast Guard (USCG), Deputy Commandant for Mission Support, Assistant Commandant for Human Resources (CG-1), Civilian Human Resources, Diversity and Leadership Directorate (CG-12), Human Resources Operations Division (CG-123W).
Duties
As a Human Resources Specialist, you will be responsible for providing management advisory services and the full range of staffing, position classification, and related services to assigned customers. Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Some of the typical work assignments include:

Qualifications
AT THE GS-9: Applicants must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 level in the Federal service.Examples of GS-7 level work may include: researching, interpreting, and applying appropriate Federal laws, regulations, policies and guidelines in the area of recruitment, placement, and classification; providing management advisory services related to recruitment, placement, and classification; and analyzing personnel needs of an organization and recommending solutions to staffing problems.ORmaster's or equivalent graduate degreeOR
2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
ORA combination of appropriate specialized experience (as described above) and graduate education (as described above) that is beyond the second year of progressive graduate study to meet the qualification requirements.
