About the Position: This position supports the mission of the J-8, Financial Operations Directorate and is located in San Antonio, Texas. A relocation incentive may be authorized. Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service.

Duties

Serve as a subject matter expert for technical infrastructure and architecture for all IT work groups and committees. Develop agency-wide security rules that enforce Healthcare Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) laws and regulations. Provide executive level managerial expertise regarding all aspects of Information Management/Information Technology (IM/IT) infrastructure to the entire DHA financial community. Develop performance objectives for and evaluates performance of subordinates. Provide supervisory and management oversight and expertise for current and long range programs. Analyze all new information system requirements, determines how those requirements can best be integrated and still be consistent with DHA long-range information systems architecture.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
  • One-year supervisory probationary period required. A one-year probationary period is required if the selectee has not previously met this requirement.
