Duties

The work performed involves providing substantive administrative services in a variety of program areas. The incumbent performs a variety of special assignments involving all aspects of the administrative management of the USAO and serves as a point of contact for program and/or administrative issues and requests. Specific duties will include: Ensuring that procurement regulations are followed Assisting with the coordination of maintenance and repairs in the facility Making purchases within delegated authority Preparing, organizing, and analyzing a variety of documentation in support of office purchases Receive supplies and equipment and ensure they are properly accounted for, stored, and distributed Maintaining records Create text documents by integrating graphic output Ensuring documents are of proper format Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress.

Requirements

  • You must be a U.S. Citizen or National.
  • Initial appointment is conditioned upon a satisfactory pre-employment adjudication. This includes fingerprint, credit and tax checks, and drug testing. Continued employment is subject to a favorable adjudication of a background investigation.
  • You must be registered for Selective Service, if applicable.
  • If selected, you may be required to complete a one year probationary period.
  • Time-in-Grade: Federal employees must meet time-in-grade requirements within 30 days after the closing date of this announcement.

Qualifications

GS-7 To be eligible at the GS-7 level, you must meet at least ONE of the following conditions, as defined below: Specialized Experience, Superior Academic Achievement, Graduate Education, OR a combination of Education and Experience. Specialized Experience One full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-05 level. Specialized experience is defined as involved monitoring or controlling procurement files; coordinating maintenance and repairs for a facility; analyzing technology in relation to support service needs; and providing administrative support services in areas such as space management, purchasing supplies and equipment, security, mail, records, reproduction services, office automation, information management, and communications hardware and software. Superior Academic Achievement You must posses a bachelor's degree in a related field such as business administration or public administration AND one of the following: 1) Class standing - upper third of the graduating class in the college, university, or major subdivision, such as the College of Liberal Arts or the School of Business Administration, based on completed courses; or 2) Grade-point average (G.P.A.) - combined total of 3.0 or higher out of a possible 4.0 ("B" or better); or 3) Grade-point average (G.P.A.) - 3.5 or higher out of a possible 4.0 ("B+" or better) based on the average of the required courses completed in the major field or the required courses in the major field completed during the final 2 years of the curriculum; or 4) Member of a national scholastic honor society listed HERE. Graduate Education Possess one year (or equivalent) of graduate education leading to a master's degree in a related field such as business administration or public administration. Combining Experience and Education I have a combination of specialized experience and graduate education which when combined equal 100% of the requirements. Interagency Career Transition Assistance Plan (ICTAP)- The ICTAP provides eligible displaced Federal competitive service employees with selection priority over other candidates for competitive service vacancies.
