This position is located in the Division of Information Technology, Office of the Deputy CIO Technology, FDITECH, Washington, D.C. of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and provides support in the areas of information technology (IT) leadership and services in support of the FDIC’s mission. Duties

-As a Specialist, the incumbent provides technical support and guidance in the tooling and foundational capabilities needed to facilitate solution delivery best practices, using agile development and other industry standards.-Collaborates with the CINO to prioritize projects from requests collected/submitted from Divisions and Offices. Leads in the development and maintenance of user stories/epics, identifies dependencies, and contributes to solutions.-Develops and maintains an active awareness of new and innovative technological developments in the financial services sector to contribute to recommendations for, and to assist with implementing FDITECH initiatives to promote the development and effective deployment of these technologies and innovations, particularly at U.S. community banks.-Identifying FDIC stakeholders and ensuring FDITECH programs and activities reflect their insight and collaboration; leading stakeholders toward identifying promising areas for research on technology innovation for further study; managing the collection of data, and conducting research aimed at facilitating and promoting the adoption of technological innovation and transformation; and researching the capabilities and adoption of the new innovations, while ensuring FDIC has a path to achieve the solution.-Leads in the development of various concepts to support business customer needs based on CIOO priorities, policy directions, management goals, and other critical issues.-Facilitates discussions with FDITECH stakeholders that address technical challenges. Participates in and makes recommendations based on available solutions within FDIC, across the government and/or for purchase and test via limited authority to operate (ATO), and monitors, analyzes, measures, and evaluates technical capabilities and solutions in order to recommend technical solutions to FDITECH stakeholders.

Qualifications

Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious/spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Additional qualifications information can be found here. To qualify, applicants must have completed at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the grade 13 level or above in the Federal service.  Specialized experience is defined as experience overseeing and supporting data management information needs; coordinating with managers and other program stakeholders to develop budgets, schedules, digital software tools, and/or resource requirements for technical programs, projects or initiatives; recommending processes or procedural improvements; and presenting issues and plausible solutions to executive management.
