The United States Mint's Recent Graduates Program affords developmental experiences in the Federal Government intended to promote possible careers in the civil service to individuals who have recently graduated from qualifying educational institutions or programs. Successful applicants are placed in a dynamic, developmental program with the potential to lead to a civil service career in the Federal Government.
Duties
The following are the duties of this position at the GS-11. You will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties, and will receive training to help you grow in this position.
Perform work involving a wide variety of assignments and special projects in one or more human resources subject-matter areas
Coordinate resources, organize operations, and provide quality services to optimize the time, cost, and value of human resource processes and services that support the mission of the United States Mint
Research, develop, and verify human resources information and services
Work in areas that involve comprehensive plans and programs that affect technical, procedural and administrative human resources functions
Conduct research for current regulations, policies, and procedures for applicable use by the local Human Resources Office and Plant or HQ management
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
To be eligible for the Recent Graduates Program, applicants must have, within the previous 2 years*, completed all educational requirements for a qualifying associates, bachelors, masters, professional, doctorate, vocational or technical degree or certificate from a qualifying institution; [or intended graduation is no more than 9 months from date of application. (However, you must graduate prior to being appointed to the position.)] if applicable. For more information on education requirements go to Treasury's Pathways Program.
*Veterans who, due to a military service obligation, were precluded from applying to a Recent Graduates Program during any portion of the 2 year eligibility period may have their eligibility period extended so that they receive the full 2 years of eligibility. The remaining 2-year eligibility period will begin upon his or her release or discharge from active duty. The veteran's eligibility period may not extend beyond 6 years from the date of completion of all requirements of an academic course of study.
To qualify for the GS-9 level, you must meet the following requirements:
A. Education: In the Recent Graduates Program you may qualify based solely on education as follows:Master's or equivalent graduate degreeOR
2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
or LL.B. or J.D., if related.
OR
B. Experience: For the GS-09 you must have one year of experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service. For this position, specialized experience for this position includes:
-Experience serving as a consultant or advisor to management; AND
-Experience applying rules, regulations, policies, and practices to gather facts and draw conclusions; AND
-Experience collaborating and professionally communicating with colleagues, customers, or management in order to strategically provide recommendations and solutions to issues; AND
-Experience designing or evaluating training programs.
OR
C. You may qualify by a combination of experience and education: Options for qualifying based on a combination will be identified in the online questions.The experience may have been gained in either the public or private sector. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. To receive any credit for your work experience, please indicate dates of employment by month/year, and indicate the number of hours worked per week, on your resume.
To qualify for the GS-7 level, you must meet the following requirements:
A. Education: In the Recent Graduates Program you may qualify based solely on education as follows:One full year of graduate level education (18 semester hours, 27 quarter hours or equivalent). OR
You may have a bachelor's degree and meet one of the following requirements for superior academic achievement: A GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale for all completed undergraduate courses or those completed in the last 2 years of study, or a GPA of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale for all courses in the major field of study or those courses in the major completed in the last 2 years of study, or rank in the upper one third of the class in the college, university, or major subdivision, or membership in a national honor society recognized by the Association of College Honor Societies.
OR
B. Experience: For the GS-07 you must have one year of experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-05 grade level in the Federal service. For this position, specialized experience for this position includes:
-Experience serving as a consultant and advisor to management; AND
-Experience applying rules, regulations, policies, and practices to gather facts and draw conclusions; AND
-Experience collaborating and professionally communicating with colleagues, customers, and management in order to strategically provide recommendations and solutions to issues.
OR
