You will serve as a FREIGHT RATE SPECIALIST in the TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT BRANCH of MARINE CORPS BASE QUANTICO.
Duties
You will conduct pre-audit and post-audit processes to ensure appropriate funding codes are applied to shipping requests.
You will operate the Cargo Movement Operations System (CMOS) to plan and route shipments.
You will determine the mode of transportation of each shipment to include small parcels, surface, air and sea.
You will determine the most efficient and economical rates and routes for the movement of freight.
You will be responsible for coverage, shortage and damage claims reporting, and the preparation of Transportation Discrepancy Reports for the freight section.
You will have knowledge and follow the regulations, procedures and guidance created by Surface Deployment and Distribution Command and HQMC.
Requirements

Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Processing, documenting, investigating, shipping, and determining of items received and effecting shipment of various general freight, specialized equipment, and hazardous material to include hazardous waste, conventional arms, ammunitions, and explosives using the most efficient and economical rates and routes for the movement of freight.
