Duties
This position is located in the Training Services Bureau, Chief Administrative Officer, United States Capitol Police (USCP). Prepares requests for procurement, training, travel orders, vouchers, and other forms as needed, using applicable automated systems, such as Momentum and the Training Management System (TMS). Initiates development of new or revised administrative policies, procedures and instructions necessary for the efficient administrative functioning of the organization. Completes limited, uncomplicated management or program analysis projects, or segments of larger analytical projects, studies, or reports under the direction of higher-level employees. This includes collecting data, detecting and evaluating trends or problems, and/or identifying solutions.
Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below.
For the CP-7 level you must have one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to at least the CP-6/GS-8 level which is in or directly related to the line of work of the position to be filled and which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience is defined as experience which includes: 1) preparing, maintaining, and certifying automated time and attendance reports and monitoring leave balances using a software program such as Work Brain system or other databases; 2) serving as the organization's liaison to the purchasing/procurement point of contact to arrange for, monitor, and office equipment, services, and products for specialized or unique program or office functions including preparing required supporting documentation for expenditures such as employee travel and training; 3) establishing control records on incoming correspondence and action documents, following up on work In progress to ensure timely action; and 4) reviewing documents requiring coordination by the supervisor for conformance with regulations, grammar, format, and special policies of the organization.
