You will serve as a SUPERVISORY RANGE DEVELOPMENT SAFETY SPECIALIST in the MARINE CORPS MOUNTAIN WARFARE TRAINING CENTER of OFFICE OF THE COMMANDING GENERAL.

Duties

You will coordinate Range Training Area (RTA), matters pertaining to the training complex use of surrounding airspace, air control procedures and midair collision avoidance. You will schedule, coordinate, control, inspect, and operate field firing ranges, firing positons, maneuver areas, military operations in surrounding airspace and impact areas. You will provide a consolidated point of contact to schedule and control all training areas and firing ranges utilizing the Range Facility Management Support System (RFMSS). You will provide range safety inspectors to ensure safety and police of areas of responsibility. You will develop and implement a training / certification program to train range personnel in range safety and range operations programs.

• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

• Must be able to possess and maintain a current valid States driver’s license.
• Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or pass the test. You will be subject to random testing.
• You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final secret security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: providing range operations and range safety program management; assisting with fire desk operations; and coordinating ground and air training activities.
