About the Position: Serves as Operations Manager, US Army Corps of Engineers, Baltimore District, Jennings Randolph Lake Project. Our mission is to deliver engineering services to strengthen our Nation's security, economy and reduce risks from disasters.
Duties
Assures compliance with public laws, regulations, and policies for the flood risk management or natural resource management program of the Corps of Engineers.
Renders technical advice on unusual, controversial, or complex decisions related to Federal civil works projects or programs.
Makes or recommends final decisions on actions that affect civil works water resource projects.
Model's high standards of honesty, integrity, trust, openness, or respect for individuals by applying value to daily behaviors.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Incumbent is required to be on call 24 hours a day during emergency situations.
- Incumbent may be exposed to stinging insects (possible reaction/anaphylactic shock) and poisonous plants may be encountered.
- A valid state driver's license is required to operate a motor vehicle.
- Travel is less than 25% of the time.
- Incumbent is required to submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450 upon entering the position and annually.
- This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one-year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Management of a multi-discipline team; 2) Operating and maintaining civil works infrastructures such as dams, recreation facilities, or levees; and 3) Developing, justifying, defending budgets or plans for civil works water resource projects. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12)
