THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a WL-6652-11 AIRCRAFT ORDNANCE SYSTEMS MECHANIC LEADER (TITLE 32), Position Description Number D1739P01 in FAC 22M000 and is part of the MO 131st Bomb Wing. Duties

Provides direction and advice to resolve problems on aircraft ordnance and electronic systems on fighter aircraft. On a regular and recurring basis, leads Aircraft Ordnance Systems Mechanics in diagnosing malfunctions, troubleshooting, and evaluating electronic system tests to determine the disassembly necessary for repair or replacement of parts. Monitors work of assigned personnel, sets the work pace, conveys work assignments, and ensures that materials, tools, equipment, and stock are available. Coordinates and works with weapon system mechanics and specialists performing journey level work. Ensures assigned personnel are fully utilized and work is accomplished in accordance with established time frames and priorities. Checks work in progress and/or upon completion for compliance with supervisor's instructions, appropriate technical orders, etc. Advises the supervisor of overall work operations, status and progress of work, causes for delays, problems encountered, and individual performance. On a daily basis, recommends adjustments in work schedules to provide optimum utilization of personnel in support of functional requirements. Routinely works with and alongside journey-level counterparts. Performs other duties as assigned.

• This is an Excepted Service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the Missouri National Guard prior to the effective date of placement.

Qualifications

MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: Compatible military grade and assignment required prior to the effective date of placement. This is an Excepted Service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard. Selected candidate must be AFSC qualified within 12 months from date of appointment. Maximum Military Grade - SMSgt (E-8) Minimum Military Grade - TSgt (E-6) Enlisted - AFSC 2W1X1 Supervisor must verify that selected individual occupies a compatible military position. Technicians will not be militarily senior to their full-time supervisor or wage leader (grade inversion). GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Must possess experience, or training that has provided you with sufficient knowledge to complete the work of an aircraft ordnance systems maintenance function; experience or training which demonstrates your ability to lead other technicians engaged in the duties performed in aircraft ordnance maintenance work. WL-11 SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must possess 24 months of specialized experience that demonstrates knowledge of and skill in repairing, troubleshooting, installing, and modifying aircraft ordnance systems, equipment and components such as gun systems, bomb racks, pylons, and the Ammunition Loading Systems (UALS/ALS). The specialized experience must also demonstrate your ability to plan, organize, and lead the work of others in an aircraft ordnance repair function; ability to perform administrative functions; to read and interpret a variety of technical publications used in the repair of supported equipment; and ability to provide guidance to others in work related directly to this position. Must currently possess or have held AFSC 2W1X1. Must currently possess or able to obtain a TOP SECRET security clearance.
