The primary purpose of this position is to instruct in the Knowledge Management (KM) course utilizing approved curriculum IAW Air Education and Training Command (AETC) instructions in support of the Cyberspace career fields. Performs all classroom-related activities along with supporting course curriculum and development/revision efforts.

Duties

Instructs students through assigned blocks of instruction at basic and/or advanced levels. Develops and/or revises lesson plans and training materials. Works on special projects as directed.

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, to include the Individual Occupational Requirements (IOR) for the GS-1712, Training Instruction series. For Community College of the Air Force GS-1712 positions only: All Community College of the Air Force faculty members must meet minimum educational requirements as prescribed by the accrediting body Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, Commission on Colleges (SACS-COC), i.e. all teachers must hold at least an associate's degree for the school to meet accreditation criteria. NOTE: You must upload a copy of your transcripts. AND In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-07, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes : 1) Teaching or instructing in an adult education program, secondary school, college, military installation, or industrial establishment in the appropriate field(s). 2) Supervising or administering a training program. 3) Development or review of training/course materials, aids, devices, etc., and evaluation of training results. 4) Work in the occupation or subject-matter field of the position to be filled that required training or instructing others on a regular basis. 5) Providing a working knowledge to create/train the use of online ad hoc reporting utilizing menu driven and command language query system for researching problems and preparing reports needed to resolve inquiries of any nature. 6) Applying a working knowledge of the functions of various knowledge management and administrative departments in a facility. OR EDUCATION: Successfully completed a master's or equivalent graduate degree OR 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree OR LL.B or J.D., with a major study in education or a subject area related to the position to be filled. OR COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: A combination of graduate education and experience may be used to qualify for this position. NOTE: You must submit a copy of transcripts. FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in­-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-07 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-09 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: Knowledge of Cyberspace Support with a specialty in Information Systems Management to plan, coordinate, manage, share, and control information. Identifies and analyzes data, information, and knowledge requirements to facilitate discovery and dissemination of decision-quality information. Leverages the interaction of people, processes, and enterprise technologies to capture, store, organize, share, and control tacit and explicit knowledge. Leverages continuous process improvement techniques to improve mission and business processes, enhancing access to relevant cross-functional information in a collaborative, timely, and contextual manner. Promotes organizational information as a reusable, shared, protected, consistent, and compliant resource. Manages and enforces use of metadata, enabling data to be accessed, tagged, and searched regardless of physical location, media, source, owner, or other defining characteristics. Assists and educates users on authoritative data sources, data services, and presentation tools to meet organizational objectives. Knowledge of Knowledge management (KM) to develop, govern, and monitor processes, technologies, and practices that support organizations to identify, capture, organize, and employ information in both fixed and deployed environments. Knowledge of a wide range of the principles and practical methods, techniques of instruction along with the tools and devices used to teach a variety of students with a range of differences such as diverse ages, backgrounds, and levels of interest. Knowledge of instructional design and materials development along with test and measurement principles, techniques and objectives for assigned courses. Knowledge of safety and security practices and procedures. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, and establish and maintain effective working relationships. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
