This announcement uses the Defense Industrial Base, Major Range and Test Facilities direct hire authority to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to certain positions in the competitive service.

Duties

You will assist the Distribution Manager in the daily administration of the Personal Property Program to ensure consistently high quality and timely personal property services are provided to authorized personnel. You will manage the Personal Property Division which provides personal property services for authorized personnel. You will analyze program changes mandated by higher-level authority to determine the impact on personal property functions; identify and recommend changes required for compliance with and implementation of mandated changes. You will submit a funded purchase request to the Joint Personal property Shipping Office-Southeast to establish a delivery order to procure transportation services for local moves. You will assist with the formulation of the annual budget for the Distribution Management Department. Yu will Identify and manage local funds required for the storage of personal property for deploying service members and non-temporary storage for overflow storage for service members assigned to government housing. Yu will supervise a team of civilian and military staff providing administrative and technical guidance to provide a full range of personal property services.

  • You must possess and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card with travel and purchase authority.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
  • May be required to work overtime.

Qualifications

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-07) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: provides administration of the personal Property Program by planning and directing personal property services for authorized personnel assigned to MCAS Cherry Point; involves supervising and performing work to arrange transportation for or perform other actions in connection with the movement of personal property by the Government or commercial means.
