About the position: This position will be assigned to the Arts & Crafts Center on Nellis AFB, NV.
Regular Full Time employees are guaranteed 35 hours, but may work up to 40 hours per week.

Duties
Position is responsible for the immediate supervision of the Arts and Crafts facilities, equipment, and of recreation and skills development in arts and crafts and manual or industrial arts for military personnel and their dependents. Serves as the supervising director of the Arts and Crafts Center and is responsible for managerial functions based on established procedures and business practices in planning, directing, and coordinating all aspects of Arts and Crafts, Craft Resale Store, Auto Skills Center, Wood Crafting Shop, Self-Service and Retail Frame Shop, Trophy/Plaque Shop, Ceramics Shop and Tee's and More store. Supervises the implementation of arts and crafts development programs and services in accordance with Air Force instructions and installation policies. Establishes priorities, organizes, and manages schedules and monitors production. Establishes realistic completion dates for customer's product requests. Plans and implements comprehensive skills development programs incorporating all six program elements; organizes activities, referral systems, equipment support, customer service, resale operations and facilities. Provides, directs, and supervises instruction in various crafts and industrial/non-industrial arts. Personally trains staff in the teaching techniques required for industrial classes/ activities conducted in various shops. Plans and directs the programs and classes of practical instruction/guidance for participants at all skill levels. Develops directives, teaching aids, visual aid displays for use by instructors. Conducts both formal and informal classes for participants in highly technical areas. Acquires and maintains an adequate stock of high-quality products for customer use. Provides technical and administrative supervision to staff. Assigns, directs, and reviews work, plans, and carries out training for all subordinates, evaluates performance, interviews, and selects applicants for employment. Prepares quarterly and annual budgets for appropriated and non-appropriated funds, analyzes financial results. Manages real property resources and initiates, recommends, and assists in planning all renovations, improvements, minor and major construction.

Qualifying Experience:
Experience which has demonstrated the ability to manage business activities. Two years of progressively responsible administrative, professional, technical, or other work that provided a general knowledge of management principles and practices. Experience in operation and management Services activity or other operation in business resale and funds management is preferred. Knowledge of retail sales, purchasing, inventory control, marketing/advertising is a plus. Must have experience in budgeting and be able to interpret such data. Must be able to work in an environment with occasional exposure to high noise levels, dust, grease, and dirt. Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office, to include Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Work requires some physical exertion, e.g., handling tools, materials, equipment and organizing the physical environment for activities and teaching certain classes.
Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.
