Duties

Being an International Training and Assistance Coordinator/Instructor makes you a valuable member of the FLETC team and mission. This position is within the International Training Division (ITD) under the National Capital Region Training Operations Directorate (NCR) located in Glynco, Georgia. You are responsible for the coordination of international engagements conducted by the FLETC to include training programs, assistance projects, international students and visitors, and international official travel conducted by FLETC personnel. You may also serve as an instructor for courses delivered by the Leadership Training Division and/or may assist with courses delivered by other FLETC training divisions internationally and domestically as required or assigned.   • Must be able to obtain and maintain FLETC Law Enforcement Instructor certification within 12 months of employment.
  • This position is eligible for telework based on agency policy.
  • This position requires you to have access, safeguard, and store classified national security information on a regular basis. You must be able to obtain and maintain a (Top Secret) security clearance.
  • This is a bargaining unit position.

The qualification requirements listed below must be met by the closing date of this announcement. SELECTIVE PLACEMENT FACTOR: In order to be considered for this position you must: A. Possess experience as a sworn law enforcement officer or agent with full arrest authority in the prevention, detection, apprehension, detention and/or investigation of felony and/or misdemeanor violations of federal, state, local, tribal, or military criminal laws; -OR- B. Have held a federal civilian position in the 1801 occupational series. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: In addition to the selective placement factor above, you must possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level in the Federal service coordinating, evaluating and/or delivering law enforcement training programs to foreign law enforcement organizations. The first assessment will consist of skilled-based questions designed to evaluate the degree to which you possess the skills needed to perform the duties of the positions being filled.  These questions are scored, and you must score at least 85 out of 100 points in order to be invited to participate in the second assessment.     The second assessment is the Performance Assessment Network System (PANS) which is a predictive assessment that measures your cognitive ability and soft skills.  This assessment may take more than an hour and a half to complete; portions are timed; and may include videos. If you feel you have a disability that warrants additional time, please follow the instructions to request a reasonable accommodation (RA) prior to beginning the external assessment. Once you start the assessment you will no longer be able to make such a request. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Note: Secondary Administrative Law Enforcement Officer retirement coverage is being offered for this position. Transfer Requirement for CSRS: To be eligible for secondary coverage, an employee must: • Transfer without a break in service exceeding 3 days directly from a primary position to a secondary position; AND • Be continuously employed in a secondary position since moving from a primary position; except a break in employment in secondary positions that begins with an involuntary separation (not for cause) and/or voluntary breaks in service that began prior to January 20, 1988. Transfer Requirement for FERS: To be eligible for secondary coverage, an employee must: • Transfer without a break in service exceeding 3 days directly from a primary position to a secondary position; AND • Have completed 3 years of service in a primary position, including any such service during which no FERS deductions were withheld; AND • Be continuously employed in a secondary position since moving from a rigorous position; except a break in employment in secondary positions that begins with an involuntary separation (not for cause). The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) must authorize employment offers made to current or former political appointees. If you are currently, or have been within the last 5 years, a political Schedule A, Schedule C, Non-career SES or Presidential Appointee employee in the Executive Branch, you must disclose this information to the Human Resources Office. Physical Demands: The work is typically sedentary in nature. However, some periods of standing and moderate lifting are necessary to set up conference rooms or classrooms, which can include training material and audiovisual equipment. Prolonged periods of International and domestic travel will be required. Work Environment: The normal workplace is a classroom or office and inside/outside practical exercise areas. Occasionally the work may require exposure to varying climate and environmental conditions, both cold and warm weather conditions and/or exposure to high levels of noise and other potential hazards.
