About the Position: The mission of the Corpus Christi Army Depot is to overhaul, repair, modify, retrofit, test and modernize helicopters, engines and components for all services and foreign military customers. Corpus Christi Army Depot (CCAD) is the Army's Center of Industrial and Technical Excellence for Rotary Wing Aviation Maintenance. We provide worldwide on-site maintenance services, aircraft crash analysis, lubricating oil analysis, and chemical, metallurgical and training support.
Duties
Disassemble, clean, rework, and/or overhaul, and assemble a wide variety of aircraft mechanical components, assemblies, accessories, and parts.
Perform prescribed rework or overhaul in accordance with technical reference material.
Replace unserviceable parts or rework by hand lapping, honing, and shimming, touching up plating, and or painting, or bead blasting, or routes to other shops for rework.
Assemble items, checking condition of part's to be used and making adjustments to obtain proper fits, alignment, and operation.
Use fixtures, and test equipment such as ohmmeters, load test stand, flow and pressure test stands to check for continuity, leakage, and proper operation.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an Aircraft Mechanical Parts Repairer without more than normal supervision. Your resume must indicate your ability to disassemble components, assemblies, and/or accessories when guidance is provided. Ability to follow guidance to examine parts for damage and/or wear patterns to determine if they are reusable or need reworking. The use of common hand tools, shop equipment and machinery (buffer, grinder, bead blasting machine, press), fixtures special tools, and test equipment. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating.

Physical Effort - Requires long periods of standing, and/or sitting and reaching. Frequently handles items weighing up to 35 pounds without assistance, and over 35 pounds with assistance from another worker or weight handling equipment.
Working Conditions - Works in a clean, well-lighted, ventilated shop area. Exposed to moving machinery, solvents, oil, and grease. Subject to noise from test stand operation. Required wearing safety glasses and shoes; also, gloves, respirators, and hearing protection when appropriate. Working conditions considered in the evaluation of the work.
