Duties
The primary purpose of this position is to serve as Supervisory Battlefield Airman Support Specialist, Battlefield Airman Directorate, HQ AETC, directing the full scope of responsibility for the activities of the Support Branch and subordinate sections in the full scope delivery of all Battlefield Airman Skills training programing.
Directs, planning, organizing, and overseeing the activities of the Branch.
Directs the exercise of supervisory personnel management responsibilities.
Represents the Directorate in a variety of policy and functional area programs.
Directs and or leads broad studies involving Special Warfare training policies, and hosts conferences and meetings that impact mission and support issues.

- The incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret (Special Sensitive) Security Clearance.

- This position is subject to provisions of the DoD Priority Placement Program.
- This position has been identified as a designated position under the Air Force Drug Testing Plan. Incumbent(s) of this position is/are subject to the possibility of a random drug testing.
- Work will occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft.
- The employee will be required to work other than normal duty hours, which may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
- Appropriately handles and safeguards sensitive and/or classified information in accordance with regulations to reduce potential compromise.

- This is a Centrally Managed Position in the Operations Career Field. PCS will be paid in accordance with JTR Vol. 2 and applicable Air Force Regulations.
- "This is a Supervisory Position." A 1 year supervisory probationary period is required if applicant selected has not previously met this requirement.
Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Miscellaneous Administration and Program Series, GS-0301.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-13, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes knowledge of accepted management and program analyst concepts, principles, and practices as they apply to organization operations, systems, and resources and ability to apply this knowledge to conventional work assignments. Applies analytical skills to the programming process key installation resources; knowledge of the financial, budgetary, maintenance and operational plans, policies, and programs of the organization to forecast budgets and probably effects of change in current and future year funding requirements and skill in verifying and tracking fiscal expenditures, available funds, etc., and to identify adverse trends and other incongruities; knowledge of the missions, functions, and organizational components of Special Warfare to facilitate relationships with lateral and higher headquarters to precisely articulate resource requirements and develop resource allocation/reallocation recommendations; knowledge of established qualitative and/or quantitative methods for the assessment and improvement of field level plans and programs for conducting major operations such as research, mission and flight operations, strategic airlift, mobilization(s), training exercise(s), rescue, personnel recovery, global access, precision strike, Planning Programming Budgeting Systems, acquisition, special operations competencies; knowledge of the intricacies of strategic programs to manage and develop strategic planning priorities, goals objectives and metrics while synchronizing and sequencing key events, milestones, and methods of evaluating the effectiveness of planning actions related to actual or planned events and skill to design, plan, organize, and conduct comprehensive studies; and prepare solutions to important and highly visible military training, operational and contingency mission areas and skill to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, to gain cooperation from others through tact, courtesy, und diplomacy and skill to plan, organize, develop and conduct special studies and projects, making recommendations on substantive operating programs, and collaborate effectively with others to develop solutions, coordinate with affected leadership and implement recommendations.
FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-13 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-14 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
