About the Position: This position is with the Army Reserve Aviation Command, Aviation Support Facility (ASF) Eustis East located at Fort Eustis, Virginia.

Duties

Analyze lessons to ensure appropriateness of concepts and instructional methods. Create training programs to increase proficiency of individuals to be rated. Evaluate student progress to determine if remedial instruction is required. Administrator evaluations of newly assigned individuals. Adapt training to accommodate skill level of student. Conducts initial and refresher training for crew members. Assess student experience level. Diagnose problems with aircraft to accurately report conditions. Teach classes about aircrew handling duties. Assess student experience level.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position is subject to the Lautenberg Amendment/Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment to the Gun Control Act of 1968.
  • This position is subject to Drug Abuse Testing Program requirements.
  • This position requires a Class III flight physical.

Minimum Eligibility Requirements: Minimum eligibility requirements for positions in this occupation are based on possession of appropriate training, and certifications or ratings required to perform the duties of a Flight Engineer or Aircrew Technician. Note: Applicants who desire to qualify on the basis of their military experience must provide official training records, flight records, copies of the DD Form 214, check flight grade sheets, or other official documentation showing their status as a flight engineer, flight engineer instructor, aircraft maintenance mechanic, aerial refueling technician, or loadmaster (as appropriate for the position). AND Specialized Experience: To qualify based on your work experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as: pre-flight procedures, aircraft loading (including weight and balance factors), airplane systems, emergency procedures, operation of aircraft engines and systems, maintenance and inspection procedures. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service GS-08. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Education and TrainingEducation and Training Program AdministrationTechnical Competence Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-08).
