About the Position: This position is located within the Womack Army Medical Center in Fort Bragg, NC. Incumbent will be responsible for monitoring the credentialing process for trends/patterns and the oversight of providers and staff compliance with license/registration/certification, education, and prime source verification within the medical treatment facility (MTF).

Duties
Track the credential files for assigned providers and staff.
Utilize credentialing programs such as Impaired Healthcare Provider Program (IHPP) to confirm providers have completed all required actions or documents.
Track adverse actions against providers within the medical treatment facility (MTF).
Monitor Peer reviews to confirm they are being completed and conducted within established regulations, polices, and guidelines.
Train lower level employees in the department on the credentialing process.
Utilize healthcare systems to analyze the credentialing process for the MTF.
Conduct continuous audits of files for the development of quarterly reports to confirm compliance ratings.
Requirements

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes processing credentialing files for providers within a medical treatment facility (MTF) or clinic such as verifying license is valid, reviewing file for adverse actions, or verifying all certifications are up to date; utilizing automated healthcare systems to enter and retrieve data; reviewing the credentialing process to determine compliance with established regulations, policies, and/or procedures; and identifying trends and/or patterns within the credentialing process of a MTF or clinic to draft reports.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).
OR
Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree with a major study in hospital administration, public health administration, or related fields such as business or public administration with course work in health care administration.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
